well, the transition from Grav to Hugo turned out to be rather easy, see this Blogpost.
And yes, I think this was the right decision for my use case.
I’m still following what’s going on here, from time to time, but not doing any more development for Grav (Plugins).
But I hope Grav will still be around in the forseeable future, and eventually attract some more core developers.

may i ask what are you going to do for your website with hugo that you cant with grav cms ?

as already stated here, my Goal was to build a static site which can survive a long time without maintenance, PHP updates etc. when I’m gone.
my first approach was to build a static site from Grav via Blackhole, but that did not work out very well.
Then I investigated some SSG’s (Pelican, Jekyll, Hugo) and found Hugo suited best for my needs.
