How to "archive" an old blog

Mojn

I just wondering out aloud and want to pick your brains (since I lost mine) on how to do it the best way.

I got an old blog that is gathering dust, but I would to just move it over into a sub-folder/blog called archive. And then start a whole new blog at the “root”

-domain-url/archive/old-blog-posts
-domain-url/new-blog-post

I have already marked all the old blog pages with this:

Taxonomy:
category: [Archive, Old-category-name]
tag: [one-tag, more-tags, loads-of-tags]

Any pointers on what else to look out for or to add to the pages, to better set up a two blog blog, if you you get what I mean.

I don’t mind if the tags from the old blog get mixed with the new blog tags. As it would be nice if someone read my old ramblings (and also easier for me to find my old stuff). Though atm I can get all the tags to be seen but only one blog’s tags work when clicked.

The next issue is that I would really like to use the Learn2 with Git Sync theme as I like the look. Though I think that getting it to behave like a blog would be way to much of a faff

Many thanks for any ideas

Heyy,
To me the way you want to structure the blog seem straightforward and doable. I’m just a bit confused when you say that only tags of one blog work when clicked. Are you using the same template on all blog pages? I don’t see any reason why some tags would work but not others.
Also using Learn2 as a blog theme may not be going to make your life easier, unless you like verrry long side menus, in which case you could just have blog posts like wiki pages displayed in the left menu. Though I don’t know how Learn2 handles tags, not sure they are displayed in a convenient way for a blog.
